Heidi Lender
Photographer and writer Heidi Lender is founder and Executive Director of CAMPO, a nonprofit creative institute in Pueblo Garzon, Uruguay. Born in New Haven, CT, Heidi served as Paris Fashion Director and Associate Bureau Chief of Women’s Wear Daily and W Magazine in her early twenties, and has contributed to international travel, shelter and fashion magazines. She lived part-time in India studying yoga, and ran a yoga studio in San Francisco. She rediscovered her creative self in photography a few years later. In 2010, on a whim, Heidi bought an 80-acre ranch in a tiny pueblo in Uruguay, where her photography career took off. In 2014, Kehrer Verlag published Grassland under Heidi’s pseudonym H. Lee, the first fine-art photography book on cannabis cultivation. CAMPO was born in 2018 to support international artists-as-changemakers and creative thinkers by offering transformative experiences through various programs under big Uruguayan skies.
