Dr. Amanda Parkes is a fashion technologist and biomedia designer with over 10 years of experience in interaction design, wearable technology, and fashion innovation. She is the Chief of Technology and Research at Manufacture NY, a new hybrid fashion incubator/factory/research facility in Brooklyn NY. She teaches in the Columbia Univ. Dept of Architecture and holds a PhD & M.S. in Tangible Media from the MIT Media Lab and B.S. in Product Design from Stanford University. She was named to the Business of Fashion 500 People Shaping the Global Fashion Industry and as one of ‘8 Wildest Women of Silicon Valley’ by Vanity Fair.
